Bogotá-Medellín: The Roadtrip of the Capitals
An Alternative way to see the Largest Cities
Colombia's biodiversity can be equivalent to 20% of the planet's total
This is a tour to slow down the rhythm of your trip and takes you to see off the beaten path places that normally the people are not visiting but are amazing! Due to the different landscapes, its forest and the history behind the towns alongside the road.
Our idea is to take a different route to get to one of this two cities, Medellin or Bogota. Normally everybody travelling between these ones does it by plane just to see the cities, but did you know that in the middle there is an amazing road full of mountain views, old towns, incredible forests and natural attractions that usually never appear at Lonely Planet guide?
This is a 415kms road that crosses two mountain chains, the biggest river of the Colombian Andes and many more. We want to do this by car but taking three days to stop by in small towns, trying different fruits, sharing with the locals, visiting natural reserves, and all the time staying at comfortable hotels!

We will Take you to:
- Travel an alternative way between the two cities. Instead of a plane, we invite you to take a car and enjoy the experience that we create for you along the road.
- Enjoy nature in a hummingbird reserve. You will be able to see more than 25 species in one place!
- Learn about the history of Colombia through the colonial heritage towns that we will meet along the way, such as Guaduas and Honda.
- Contemplate the natural wealth of the country from all the geographical and climatic changes that occur in a single trip of 415 km, from the changes in height between the mountains and the road that joins them.
- Relax in the particular nature that the karstic forest of the Río Claro Nature Reserve offers us with its hotel nestled in the walls of the canyon of the river with the same name as the reserve.
- Delight yourself with Colombian traditions. Along the way, we will make stops to get to know the culture, you will taste local food, many fruits and you can take photos
