The rainiest place in the world located in Chocó, where a year it can rain 10 times more than in a average place in the rest of the world.
With this amazing 4 day trip you will have the possibility to enjoy the famous destination of Caño Cristales La Macarena as is called the Municipality, but this time at your own pace, exploring calmly the off the beaten path jungle that you never visit when you are only going to la Caño Cristales the river. You will be amazed by the secrets that waits for you!. Hiking, or using canoes we will go deep to enjoy geological rocky formations resembling cities, canyons like the mighty Cajon at Raudal Guayabero 1, carved in the rock deep inside the jungle by which the waters leaks sometimes even creating waterfalls, or quiet secret lagoon inside the jungle. We will have the chance to observe ancient petroglyphs carved in the rock. We will go by the hand of the local guides of the community to do some short hikes for learning about the diverse fauna and flora of the region, or even better!, if you prefer we can enjoy an adventure activity going down the Guayabero river in plastic kayaks or pneumatics for enjoy a bath at the river.
La Macarena is a small town lost in the jungle that is not easily reachable, and that suffered very much because of the violence and illegal economies, today is a community dedicated to take care of the jungle. This time after a long process of preparation they bring to us a new alternative, beyond Caño Cristales that everybody knows, communitarian off the Beaten Path Jungle Experience, created and hosted by themselves, looking to develop new amazing experiences, with homestay in the jungle and from their hands learn how these communities are moving today out of the illegal economies like Coca plantations to Ecotourism, in the unique Macarena Sierra. This is our way to help them and enjoy an adventure.

We will Take you to:
- Get to know the nature of Macarena, which in addition to Caño Cristales, has places with beautiful trails, rivers, canyons, and jungle that can be visited at any time of the year.
- Delve into the jungle to discover the natural reserves that the place offers and where you can stay in comfortable ecolodges, or in comfortable community accommodations.
- Go hiking through areas where the savannah mixes with the jungle and admire some rock formations that look like stone cities.
- Cross the imposing canyon of the Guayabero River. You will travel a distance of 3 km within the Tinigua National Park.
- Learn about the jungle and the area from the hand of local peasant guides who left livestock to dedicate themselves to protecting nature and doing sustainable tourism. You will be able to observe its fauna, flora and even observe pink dolphins.
- Bathe in the clean waters of some small streams in the jungle

Journey Type
Tourist: This trip is for relaxing, having fun or both. The type of activities included do not require any sort of physical preparation. It is available for all types of people and all ages.
Sportive-Active: These types of trips are more physically demanding. You need to be mentally and physically prepared for long range routes of some sort of adventure sport. You should be in good physical shape.
Active: This type of journey means a certain type of physical effort as well as physical preparation is needed. This is the first of the Active levels, so only basic and low physical preparation is required.
Expedition: Adventure trips which require varying physical levels of fitness. They are only suitable for well-prepared people, and you may face some uncertainness due to time or weather in the trip location. Some situations will require mental as well as physical strength.
Activity Level
1 For people with physical disabilities.
2 For people who have never done any sort of physical exercise.
3 For people who have done some exercise in the past but may have spent the last 2 years not moving a finger.
5 For people who exercise every month of the year but not necessarily with great regularity. People with good health and travelling experience. You will face every day activities which require average physical effort, such as short treks, or other types of activity which are not longer than 2 to 3 hours a day during the trip.

6 For people who like to do exercise, even with some discontinuity during the year, and are in good physical shape and good health. Those who have travelling experience, as well as camping experience. You can face 17kms (11Milles) hikes in one day, and changes in altitude of 800mts (265Ft) height at least once a week.
7 For people who exercise 3 to 4 times a week, are in good physical shape, have experience in adventure sports, as well as experience of camping for periods of 3 to 5 days. You can face a 20km (12mile) hike every day for 4 days with changes in altitude of 900mts (290Fts) or more. You know your rhythm, as well as how your body performs in difficult weather conditions.
8 The same characteristics as 7, plus technical knowledge of some adventure sports.
9 For specialized professional sports people. Routes carefully designed for high performance. Only by request.
